A functional, considered space.
Musician Gallery is a directory and booking tool for musicians and teachers across Aotearoa, New Zealand. Musicians list a free profile, set their own rates, and retain the full amount. Clients search a curated gallery of musicians and teachers, and pay a 10% platform fee at checkout. An amount that keeps the gallery free and accessible for musicians to join and be discovered.

Send a booking request
Reach out directly through the platform. Ask questions, share details, and get to know your musician before anything is confirmed. Musician Gallery relays every message, so your email address stays private throughout.
Pay securely, once confirmed
You and your musician confirm the details that matter: set list or lesson structure, capability, availability, and rate. Once your musician confirms, your booking is secured with a payment link sent directly to your email. For lessons, agree on a set number of sessions together, a full term is a good amount to start with, paid upfront in one go.
Enjoy the music
For lessons, payment is released to your musician gradually, as each lesson happens. For events, musicians are paid the Wednesday following your function. Whether it's a musician for an event or a teacher to expand your musical language, your booking supports them directly.
A portfolio, built to support you.
Not sure what to have ready? Our Musician Toolkit walks you through your portfolio, your first booking, and setting yourself up as a business.
A portfolio, ready to go
Your curated profile acts as a professional portfolio: bio, experience, rates, and photos in one place. Share it directly with people you know, or be discovered by instrument, region, and occasion, whether you perform solo or as a group. Either way, you're accessible and ready to book, with every message delivered through the platform.
Trusted
Teachers complete a one-off NZ Police Vetting Check through CVCheck before their profile goes live, earning a Police Vetted badge. Event musicians build trust independently, through client reviews and a detailed portfolio.
Backend, handled
Event payments are held securely and paid out the Wednesday after your function. For lessons, agree on a set number upfront, paid in one go by your client and released to you as each lesson happens. No invoicing, no chasing clients for payment, and every transaction is logged in your own Stripe dashboard, ready for tax time.
Independent
Set your own rates and keep your own clients. This is a booking tool, not an agency. We're here to support your career, or simply help you build an accessible income stream doing what you love.
How the money
moves.
All payments on Musician Gallery are powered through Stripe, a tool used by millions of businesses worldwide. Card is the primary way to pay, processed securely with no added card fees. If your business needs a formal invoice, get in touch at contact@musiciangallery.co.nz and we’ll arrange one for you.
Once a musician confirms a booking, the client receives a payment link by email. A 10% platform fee is added to the musician’s rate at checkout. This keeps Musician Gallery free for musicians to join. Event bookings confirmed 30 or more days out start with a 25% deposit to secure the date, with the balance due closer to the event. Bookings made within 30 days of the event are paid in full at the time of booking. Lesson bookings, whether a single lesson or a full term, are always paid in full when the booking is confirmed.
On the musician’s side, setup is simple: a single Stripe account linked directly to a bank account. Event payments and single lessons are held securely and released the Wednesday following the date they take place, while payment for an ongoing term is released gradually, in line with lessons delivered.
If plans change.
Musician Gallery’s standard cancellation policy applies to every booking by default.
This is a summary, the full policy is set out in our Terms & Conditions.
